What style of massage is best for you?
swedish massage
Swedish massage is for general relaxation and overall wellness, and uses light to moderate pressure to alleviate general muscle tension and fatigue while giving you an overall feeling of relaxation. This is the type of massage most commonly given in spa environments.
deep tissue
Deep tissue therapy targets and relieves muscle tension and pain by focusing on deeper layers of muscle, where scar tissue and inflammation can cause chronic pain and mobility issues. Deep tissue massage may include myofascial release, trigger point therapy, active isolated stretching, and active release techniques.
injury therapy
Therapeutic massage techniques can be very beneficial for relief from pain resulting from common injuries, past and current. Targeted massage therapy can offer relief from conditions such as chronic back pain, sprains and strains, sciatica, rotator cuff injuries, frozen shoulder, tennis and golfer's elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, TMJ disorder, whiplash, plantar fasciitis, and headaches.
NOTE: Massage is not a replacement for medical treatment when required, but can help the healing process as a supplement to medical care.
prenatal massage
Prenatal massage can help soothe many common pregnancy-related ailments such as muscle fatigue, anxiety, minor swelling of feet and ankles, neck and back pain, and general tension headaches. Prenatal massage uses light to moderate pressure, is done in side-lying position after 20 weeks, and is safe for pregnant women who are not considered "high risk". Approval to receive therapeutic prenatal massage from your OB/GYN is required.
reiki therapy
Reiki translates to "spiritually guided life force energy", and is also known as palm healing or energy/chakra cleansing and balancing. Reiki can clear energy blocks that may be manifesting as physiological issues or chronic anxiety, and provides an overall sense of peace, calm, and balance. Reiki requires little to no direct physical contact, and is generally done with the recipient remaining fully clothed. Sessions can be done as a stand-alone therapy, or incorporated into any massage session.
chair massage
Chair massage is generally performed at special events such as staff appreciation days, corporate events, weddings and reunions, or other social gatherings. These massages target the back, neck, and shoulders, and are usually 10-15 minutes per session.
